Martin himself says of his book, “I have been on fast-forward for most of my life, racing to keep ahead of the demands of a caerer in breaking news. Writing this book has given me a chance to pause and reflect a little on myself, but mostly on the dilemmas I have faced covering shattering events around the world.”

Martin Fletcher has covered almost every major conflict and natural disaster in Europe, Africa, and The Middle East for thirty-five years. He’s won five Emmies, a DuPont award, several Overseas Press Club awards, and many other honors. He is currently NBC News Bureau Chief in Tel Aviv.
